BRIEF

Coletta sought to bring the Italian art of gelato making to life in the center of the California culinary scene. The founders attended Gelato University in Bologna, Italy, and are dedicated to using only farm fresh ingredients with unique flavor combinations.

SOLUTION

UNIT helped establish the Coletta brand story and tone of voice to accurately communicate their dedication to fresh ingredients and fresh gelato. We devised a pattern of iconic common ingredients that bring bright colors and flavors to their modern storefront. Graphics were developed that help educate the consumer as to the many reasons as to why gelato trumps ice cream. UNIT also set forth the interior and exterior vision to bring their modern, yet warm vision to life. The building was painted an inviting coral color to create a distinct beacon amongst the sea of industrial buildings, and wooden signage was designed to warm the modern interior.

RESULTS

Their gelato lab has received rave reviews from Eater and more. Their brand success has parlayed into being a top catering add-on for San Francisco’s tech elite, a second location in the Mission, and their gelato cruisers that give them a mobile platform.
