CLIENT

Crema

BRIEF

Our client, who built successful brick and mortar dessert locations, that eventually parlayed into grocery, was looking to open a new café concept at San Francisco International Airport. They needed a new brand to showcase their dessert expertise, new coffee offering, and dedication to sustainability. The café would feature local, organic products and ingredients, compostable packaging, and LEED certified architecture.

SOLUTION

To promote their sustainability mission everything within the brand serves dual purposes. The name is representative of the “cream” inside their decadent desserts and the frothy swirl atop coffee, “créma.” A swirl icon pays homage to the swirling motions in frosting, decorative pastries, and artisan patterns created on the tops of a coffee or hot chocolate. The leaf supports their sustainability mission. Napkins double as tic tac toe templates to help pass travel time. The interiors introduce warm tones and rich textures to provide an inviting backdrop that helps whet the appetite, while helping them achieve their LEED certification.

RESULTS

The proposal was well received by SFO, and the client was extremely pleased with the end result. They have continued to engage UNIT on additional airport initiatives.
